Self-Employment Income Support Scheme
SELF-EMPLOYED
The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, made a much anticipated announcement on Thursday covering support for the self-employed. I have prepared the attached concise summary with all the key facts.
Please remember that this only applies to sole traders and partners in partnerships. Limited Companies are not considered self-employed and are not covered by this scheme. If you’re a director of your own company and paid through PAYE you may be able to get support using the Job Retention Scheme.
Also, please note that HMRC will contact you if you are eligible for the scheme and invite you to apply online. You (or Goddard Solutions as agent) will access this scheme only through official HMRC log on. If someone texts, calls or emails claiming to be from HMRC, saying that you can claim financial help or are owed a tax refund, and asks you to click on a link or to give information such as your name, credit card or bank details, it is a scam.
